I have loved reading since forever. My mom said recently that she would take us to the library to get books and once we were home we would want to read every. single. book. that we’d just borrowed. We would read them several times before it was time to head back to the library for more.
Reading is one of those things that can help to learn about other worlds and cultures. But it can also help with our lives now, and one of the biggest things kids need to understand is they are worth the time, worth the effort and can make a difference by being themselves. That self-esteem doesn’t just come from one place but from several different sayings and people and situations throughout the course of our life.
So why not help our kids, and give ourselves the reminder, that they can do hard things? I’ve found a bunch of books that help to build self-esteem through different scenarios and stories because relating our life and our kids’ life to a story can help us make the changes we want to become who we have the potential to be.
Here you go! 15 books to help inspire self-esteem:
